The $0 Stack is an always-current guide to running an AI-agent-built side business for $0/month. We research, verify, and track free-tier tools so builders can focus on shipping instead of hunting for pricing pages.

Why This Exists

In October 2026, Alex Finn's viral posts about Grok Bot autonomous businesses sparked a wave of builders launching AI-agent-run "microbusinesses". The challenge? Finding tools that:

Have genuine $0/month free tiers
Allow commercial use (many "hobby" plans don't)
Work with AI agents (APIs, CLIs, no phone verification traps)
Won't change terms without notice

We built this site to answer those questions in one place.

What Makes a Tool "$0"

To be listed here, a tool must:

Have a free tier with no credit card required (or refundable deposit only)
Not have surprise "overages" that bill you automatically
Be usable for production workloads, not just testing
Have limits we can verify from official documentation

Commercial Use & Bot-Friendly Ratings

Commercial Use: Does the free tier's terms of service allow you to run a business on it? Vercel's Hobby plan, for example, explicitly prohibits commercial use. We mark this clearly so you don't violate ToS unknowingly.

Bot-Friendly: Can an AI agent sign up and operate the service? We rate tools on:

Excellent: Full API/CLI, OAuth login, no phone verification
Good: API available, may need email verification
Fair: Limited API or manual setup required
Poor: No API, CAPTCHA, phone verification required

How We Research

Every tool is researched from official pricing and limits pages. We link to sources and mark the last verification date. If we can't verify something, we mark it "unverified" rather than guessing.

When limits change, we update the listing and log it in the changelog.
